QUICK VANILLA SLICE

1 packet SAO biscuits

FILLING

600 ml cream

1 packet Fosters Clarke Custard Powder

METHOD

Pour cream into bowl, sprinkle custard powder over cream and beat till thick.

Place one layer of biscuits over the bottom of slice tray.

Arrange filling on top.

Place another layer of biscuits over top of filling.

Ice with pink icing.

Leave overnight to soften biscuit.

You could try using Puff Pastry also.

 

Apple and sour cream slice recipe

Combine cake mix with coconut and melted butter. The mixture appears a little dry, but don't worry it's meant to be like this.

Ingredients:

  • 1 packet vanilla cake mix
  • 1 cup of desiccated coconut
  • 3 heaped tablespoons of melted butter
  • 1 tin of pie apples
  • 200 grams of sour cream
  • 1 egg

Method:

Combine cake mix with coconut and melted butter. The mixture appears a little dry, but don't worry it's meant to be like this.

Press into a square cake tin and bake for around 10 minutes in a moderate oven.

Place the pie apples on top of the cake base whilst still warm.

Combine sour cream with a beaten egg and spread on top.

Dust with cinnamon or coconut, whichever you prefer (cinnamon is best for presentation).

Return to oven and bake for around 20 minutes.

Allow to cool (the sour cream topping will set), refrigerate and slice into smallish pieces as it is quite a rich slice.

½ WOMBOK SHREDDED,

 2 PINK LADY APPLES QUARTERED, CORED, THINLY SLICED

¾ CUP FLAT LEAF PARSLEY

2 SPRING ONIONS SLICED

¼ CUP SLIVERED ALMONDS TOASTED

DRESSING:

¼ CUP OLIVE OIL, 2 TBS LEMON JUICE, 1 TBS TAHINI, 1 TSP HONEY

MIX ALL TOGETHER AND ADD DRESSING JUST BEFORE SERVING

 

JAN’S SLICE (Bloody beautiful and so easy to make!)

3 ozs melted butter

1 cup crushed biscuits

1 cup coconut

1 cup choc bits

1 cup chopped walnuts

1 tin condensed milk

METHOD:

Put into square, greased cake tin in order and drizzle alternately with condensed milk.

When finished, cook in oven for 20-25 minutes on 180 degrees.

 

Posties Nuts & Bolts

 1 - 300g pkt Nutra Grain

1 - 750g unsalted mixed or whatever nuts you wish to use

1 - French onion soup pkt

1 Tsp mustard

1 Tsp curry powder

1 cup peanut oil

Double the ingredients to make bulk

Place all dry ingredients into a large clean bowl

Warm the oil not hot slowly pour 1/2 over ing and mix by hand then pour remander of oil
over ing and mix well making sure the mix has been well coated.

Place in air tight container and ENJOY!

 Freebees' Choc, coconut and cranberry no-bake slice

150g unsalted butter, chopped
150g caster sugar
25g cocoa
30g desiccated coconut
1 egg lightly beaten
125g savoiardi fingers chopped
120g dried cranberries
drinking choc to dust

Grease and line a 29cm x 19cm slice pan

Combine butter, sugar and cocoa in saucepan on medium heat. Cook, stirring
until sugar dissolved

Transfer mix to bowl and stir in coconut, egg, biscuits and cranberries.
Press mix in pan. Cover and refrigerate for 3 hours, until firm.
Dust with drinking chocolate, Cut into squares, serve.

Avocado Sweet Chilli Dip
Ingredients: 
2 avocados; 2 tablespoons sweet chillie sauce
Method:
Mash avocado
Add sweet chilli sauce (the amount may be varied according to taste)
Serve with dry biscuits or cut-up vegetables.

Beetroot Dip
Ingredients:
400 grams beetroot balls, drained
1 teaspoon garlic minced
1 teaspoon coriander, ground
2 teaspoons cumin, ground
2 teaspoons lemon juice
175 grams NESTLE ALL NATURAL Natural Style Yogurt
Method:
Combine beetroot, garlic, coriander, cumin, lemon juice and yogurt.
Process until roughly chopped.  Refrigerate until required.
